Nominations for Captains & Clubman

Extension of period for nomination of captains and Club Person of the Year

It was decided at the RFC management meeting on 6th April 2017 that the period for nominations for captains for season 2017/18 and for the 2016/17 Clubman of the Year would be extended by one week.  Nominations will now be accepted up to 8.00pm on Saturday 15th April 2017.  In the absence of the secretary the nominations should be submitted in writing to Jon Vaughan.

ELECTION OF CAPTAINS FOR SEASON 2017/18

+++++++

It is that time of the year when we seek candidates to fill the captaincy roles of the respective teams for next season.

Members, and particularly players, are therefore asked to consider candidates whom they think are suitable for the positions.

Please bear in mind that the candidates should not only be dependable players and leaders on the pitch but that they should also be able to represent their fellow players’ views at the monthly management meetings that they are required to attend.

These meetings form an important part of the role in order that information and opinions can be transferred from the players to the management committee and vice versa.

Members are therefore invited to submit the names of suitable candidates to Tony Crimp by Saturday 8th April 2017.

The nomination should be in writing and contain the names of the proposer, the seconder and the signature of the nominee accepting the fact that his name is being put forward.

It is hoped that we will again run three teams and nominations are required for the 1st, 2nd and Veterans XVs.

In the event of more than one nomination for each of the positions, elections will be held in April & May with the winner to be announced at the Dinner & Presentation Evening on Friday 26th May 2017.

NOMINATIONS FOR CLUBMAN OF THE YEAR

It is also the time that the club honours the person who in the opinion of the membership has served the club to the best of their abilities and beyond in the last twelve months.

Nominations in writing to Tony Crimp are therefore invited from members for this prestigious award by Saturday 8th April 2017.

In this case the nominee does not have to be approached for his approval for his name to be put forward.

At this time we are inviting nominations only, this is not the vote.  That process will follow in April and May should more than one person be put forward.

The recipient can be anyone in the club and is not restricted in any way other than the nominee should be a worthy candidate.

Please respect the award by nominating the person who has contributed most to the club this year.

A. R. Crimp (Honorary Secretary Old Penarthians RFC)
